【ニューデリー】Vedanta Group傘下のSterlite Energy Ltd(SEL)は、国内初のウルトラ・メガ送電(UMPT:Ultra Mega Power Transmission)プロジェクトに一番札を入れた。同プロジェクトが実行されれば、国営PowerGrid Corporationの送電事業独占経営に終止符が打たれる。
ビジネス・スタンダードが10月9／10日、消息筋の言として報じたところによると、Rural Electrification Corporation Limited(REC)とPower Finance Corporation(PFC)は2008年に、①Talcher Augmentation Transmission System(Talcher-II)／②North Karanpura Transmission System／③East-North Interconnection System(ENIS)から成る3件の送電網プロジェクトの入札を募集、Anil Ambani GroupのReliance Power Transmission Ltd (RPTL)やEssar Powerを含む8社が5650クロー(US$11.77億)と見積もられるこれら3件のUMPT事業に入札した。
SELはPFCが募集した、③東北州際送電プロジェクトENISに一番札を入れた。他の2件の入札結果は明かでない。
